Southern California Account Manager – Los Angeles (B2B Sales / Business Development / Training)

The Southern California Account Manager is responsible for forming, building, and maintaining new Compelling partnerships with businesses from the San Diego to Central Valley areas of California, but will be based in Los Angeles.

The associate is responsible for:
● Taking the initiative to build new sales channels, including partnerships with cafes, restaurants, and more.
● Maintaining a database of potential and closed sales in their territory.
● Following up with their established partners to make sure their needs are met at any given moment.
● Initial training in accordance with established service standards, along with periodic re-training.
● Phone, web-based, and in-person sales meetings with prospects.

Requirements

  • A passion to further your education and knowledge of specialty coffee and hospitality.
    ● Strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
    ● Must have access to a car, with California insurance, and a data-enabled smartphone.
    ● A flexible schedule.
    ● Be self-directed when needed, but comfortable taking direction and asking questions.
    ● Motivation to meet and exceed sales targets.
    ● Ability to take both wins and losses professionally.
  • A strong candidate will have:
    ● Experience in specialty coffee sales and proven high-performance.
    ● Experience training baristas.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Compensation is generous commission-based to start; experienced candidates are eligible for salary upon commencement. We expect the commission on this position to be equivalent to around $51,000/year.
    ● After 90 days, this full-time position will be eligible for to switch to a biweekly salary based on experience and current commission-based earnings, as well as a health insurance allowance. You are also free to choose to continue to receive commission for the duration of your employment if you wish.

Barista – Hollywood, Los Angeles, California (RETAIL)

Compelling is currently hiring for a Barista, with the possibility of promotion to a Shop Manager position.

The associate is responsible for:
● Dialing-in and preparing coffee and tea drinks according to Compelling standards.
● Preparing drinks with efficient, professional standards.

Compensation and Benefits
● Compensation is an hourly rate based on experience, plus any tips or share of tips if working with an associate.

Requirements

Roasting Production Manager – Los Angeles (LABOR) This position has been filled.

The Production Manager is responsible for roasting our coffee to an exacting profile. Some experience is required, as is a humble attitude and willingness to grow as a roaster.
The Production Manager:
● Produces all packaging materials for daily shipments, including labeling of bags and boxes, ensuring all orders are filled, packed, and shipped in an accurate and efficient manner.
● Communicates with the Green Coffee Buyer regarding any inventory shortages, errors, safety concerns
● Perform Daily/weekly/monthly maintenance and cleaning of select production equipment

Requirements

● Relevant professional experience and strong references.
● Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
● Ability to stand or walk 8 hours per day
● Ability to lift up to 80 lbs many times throughout the day
